City vs Country Origin

City Win Battle Of Origin 2.0

City have claimed an impressive 5-3 win over Country in the second Kick It Touch City/Country Origin on Sunday.

The victory was a fantastic come-up following Country's 4-3 win in June.

Characterised by a mammoth amount of possession, City capitalised when it mattered with early tries to Flickers' front man Lachy Mothers

Mothers would push the scores out to 2-0 with an emphatic in-and-away near the goal line in the 10th minute.

With their backs against the Country swooped with a length-of-the-field intercept by Dugongs' Anthony Hanna.

Flickers' Zac Kent produced Country's second try with some fleet footwork down the right edge to fool multiple defenders.

The possession returned for the men in white as Troopers' Cam Webb crossed for his first off a nice short pass from Cattledog's Lochie Beetson.

To snapback momentum, Untouchies Antony Tatkovic latched on to a rogue pass to runaway and bring the scores level early in the second half.

Misfits' Henry Waller produced a quality short kick and draw and pass to send One Kick Wonders' Matt Beard over to break the deadlock.

LGM's speedster Jesse Ripley was held in check for much of the game, however in front of fatiguing defence, he stuck with a short-kick and late try to push the scores out to five and ice the game.

Well done to City on their 5-3 defeat of Country.

Kick it 4 Kids | Game Day Term 3, Carseldine, August 27th.

Term 3 | Game Day Sunday

In front of parents, family and friends, term 3 Game Day shaped as the biggest, and best yet. And it delivered!

In warm, sunny conditions, Carseldine played host to a great Sunday afternoon of footy.

We were fortunate to have a number of kids from our Toowong competition participate.

Kids were split into four teams based on age, before taking part in a full 30-minute touch football game.

It was fantastic to see all the children getting stuck in dummy half, running the ball and marking up in defence; we even saw a few handy kicks!

Well done to our winners Team Pink and Team Blue.

All participants took home a Grill'd Chermside voucher + some chocolate for the winners.

Game Day returns in term 4 on Sunday, November 26th at Carseldine.
All children who are part of a registered competition are able to take part.

The Kick It Maroons have won their second consecutive mixed Origin title following an emphatic win on Sunday.

Boasting three new faces, the Queensland side was quick to gel and took the advantage early.

Early doubles to player of the match Corey Pocock and best and fairest Tony Martin capped off an electric start.

Blues' speedster Chloe Storm rebounded with the only two-point girl try to bring the scores close before a trademark Jesse Ripley step and kick helped the maroons rebound.

A 5-2 halftime score paved the way for an exciting second half.

It was a tough and gritty display by the Blues who lost three players in the lead up.

Blues' stalwart and captain Clancy Ticker led an experienced line up which included five new members on last year's series.

New South Wales maintained a positive outlook and plenty of guts.

The might of Queensland proved too great as they leaned on a speed advantage to run in nine second half tries to one.

Four second half tries to player of the match Corey Pocock set the stage.

Try doubles to Tony Martin and Will Smith ensured the Maroons skipped ahead with ease.

Some fantastic set up work the middles Jake Coolwell, Ripley, Eliza Mooney, Dean Saxvik equated for more than half of the team's record 10 try assists.

A late consolation try to Blues captain and middle-man Clancy Tickner saved face against a rampant Queensland outfit.

The first Kick It City Country Origin failed to disappoint with both mens sides performed extremely well with little preparation.

In a fast-paced end to end match, Country was first to capitalise through Jaidyn White who capitalised on a short kick by Jake Harding.

The kick seemed to be the best option against a stout City side as Anthony Hannna produced one to score from long range.

Featuring a number of ex-representative players, the City side began to connect.

Speedster Lachlan Mothers scooted down the sideline from a Ryan Abil short ball.

The pair would combine shortly after with Mothers' scooping up a grubber from Abil to score City's second try.

Key Country middle Michael Bacon dictated terms with some quick foot work and manipulating the defence.

It was this quick foot work which provided an opportunity to dive over from short range.

Country held a slim lead at halftime, and the scores remained unchanged in the second half.

Numerous close calls by Country's Dylan Thomson, Brett Coghill, Jake Harding and Zachari Connor failed to trouble the scoreboard.

City's Adriano Gaile and Lochie Beetson produced some chances however country's defence was able to hold.
