The annual Kick It Charity Shield returns in November with LIVIN and mental health as the focus.

Our partnership with LIVIN started back in 2016 as a way to bring the community together and highlight the stigmas and barriers associated with mental health and depression among young people.

We were fortunate enough to be joined by the majority of the Brisbane Broncos to help ram home the message that “nobody suffers in silence”.

Five years on and the mental health is more important than ever, in particular in light of COVID-19.

1 in 5 Australians will be affected by mental health issues at some point in their lives. That number could realistically be 1 in 4 after a tough 2020.

The young Australians affected by depression and health issues aren’t always men. Women are just as susceptible.

1 in 6 women in Australia are impacted by mental health issues during the lifetime. Its time to make a stand!

So what exactly can we do?
We can create awareness of the issue and bring the greater community together to celebrate something we all love; touch footy.

We can raise vital funds for the education programs towards mental health and depression.

We can create a strong community focus that nobody suffers alone. #itaintweaktospeak
