Term 1 Touch Footy

New year, same great touch footy competition.
Term 1 will kick-off in early February at all three locations with free come and try sessions also scheduled.

A new addition to 2025 is a mid-term Game Day event.
The gala day will coincide with a second end-of-term Game Day, providing participants with more games during each season.

Weekly sessions will remain constant with fun skills coaching and games in each one-hour session.

No matter the skill level, every participant can perform, learn and thrive in each activity.

Sessions are coordinated by passionate coaches with a strong focus on creating a comfortable team environment - the perfect way for kids to make new friends and learn as a group.

Term 1 registrations are now open.

Kick It 4 Kids - Junior Touch Football Game Day

Game Day x2

A welcome addition in 2025 is the inclusion of a second Game Day event, starting in term 1.

The first Game Day will be held at Forest Lake in March, with teams facing off against the other locations.

Carseldine will play host for the second event at the end of the term.

The dual event concept has been made possible past success, the inclusion of the Forest Lake program and the evolution of team jerseys and logos.

We're excited for what is shaping as an outstanding gala day calendar from 2025.

How will this work, and what will be different?
Week 1 - Participants will be placed in age groups. Coaches will coordinate skills coaching in age groups.
Week 2 - Participants will be placed in teams. Coaches will coordinate skills coaching and games in teams.
Week 3 - Coaches will coordinate skills coaching and games in teams, preparing participants for each Game Day event as required.
Game Day 1 - Saturday, March 1st, from 3pm (end of week 5 of term 1).
Game Day 2 - Saturday, March 30th, from 3pm @ Carseldine (end of week 9 of term 1).

The most noticeable difference between term 1 and previous years is that participants will be put in teams as early as possible.
Age group training will still be used, however teams will be well defined from week 2.

Professional photography will be organised for the second Game Day event, with images available to parents.
Player certificates and prizes will be allocated to participants across both events.
A local charity BBQ will be organised. All profits will go to disadvantaged youth programs.

Game Day events are included in registration fees.
Teamwear can be worn during any session or Game Day event. To order yours, please click the teamwear image.

Introduction to touch footy program (4 - 6 years)

Located at Carseldine

In term 4 last year, we launched a specialised four-week touch footy program for 4 - 6 year olds.

The program is designed to focus on gross motor skills, and basic touch footy skills, in a fun, learning environment.
We certainly achieved this.

It was fantastic to see all eight participants learn, grow and challenge themselves in different ways. We even organised a structured touch footy game in week three and four.

The Introduction to touch footy program will return from term 1 in 2025.

The program will take place from 4:30 - 5:15pm each Monday evening, and before the standard competition.

Focusing on core skills and movements, the touch footy program is a fantastic starting point for children keen to get into sport, or touch footy.

Coaches will organise fun games and activities at a slow pace, maintain an engaging and social environment for kids to learn.
Our goal is to play a structured touch footy game by week 4; even earlier if possible!

Older participants will have the ability to move up into the youngest age group of the standard competition at the parent's and coordinator's discretion.

Term 1 Introduction to Touch Footy spots are limited to 12 children.

KICK your touch footy up a notch!

Traditional touch footy is fun, but we can level up with the addition of kicking.
This is what makes Kick It Touch unique!

During the term, coaches will organise various activities focusing on all kick types such as a grubber, chip and drop kick.

Best of all, participants can utilise these skills and perform kicks in touch football matches.

Kicking skills cross over well with other sports such as Rugby League, Rugby Union and AFL.

There are a couple of adaptive rules to assist with a free-flowing game to create a true blend between traditional touch and rugby league;
- The ball can hit the ground and play continue.
- Players can kick on any touch (coaches will encourage touch 4/5 kicking in younger groups).
- Players can kick any height in general play, and can score from their own kick.
- There is no 'no touch', 'touch pass', 'touch kick' or over the mark change over. In all these scenarios, the attacking player retains possession, and will play the ball.
