Well done to Sneaky Link who defeated Nims Trims 4-2 in Golden Point extra time to conclude winter season at Toowong.

The rivals battled it out with Nims Trims racing out to a 2-nil lead at halftime.

A second half response saw Sneaky Link level the scores midway through the second half.

Player of the match, and match winner AJ Tucker secured the win with a goal line split on a broken Nims Trims defensive line.

It's Sneaky Link's third Grand Final win.

Golden point rule adaption

In late 2024, the finals extra time rule was amended to make for a fairer golden point period.

The traditional 'drop off' of four-on-four or three-on-three was scrapped, with teams able to start the overtime period with the maximum number of players on the field.

At the fourth and fifth minute mark, teams will drop a male player. The period will continue from the fifth minute as a four-on-four extra time match up; consisting of two male and two female players.

The change gives both teams at least one opportunity to receive the ball, and produce a try before players are dropped off.

All other extra time rules remain unchanged, including both teams must receive a possession with the ball, unlimited substitutions and female tries are worth two points.

While there is time constraints, and achieving an outcome is the main focus, this fairer method of golden point extra time is here to stay.

Lucky 13 for Untouchies, Multiple Scoregasms take division 2 36

Lucky 13 for Untouchies, Multiple Scoregasms take division 2

Untouchies have recorded their thirteenth Toowong grand final win with a hard-fought 4-3 victory in extra-time against Hey Furston.

In a clash between Kick It's most experienced team, and newest team, it was Hey Furston who started fast, scoring the opening two tries.

A two-point girl try to Olivia in the opening four minutes set the stage for an almighty battle.

Australian Mens Allstars' representative Sean Austin crossed two minutes after to blow the lead out to 3-0, with a shocked Untouchies watching on.

'Lets get back into this' was the message as Untouchies returned to their fast, high percentage style of play.

Hey Furston mirrored them, combining speed and direct rucking, a hallmark of their summer season success.

Untouchies got on the board late in the first half through captain Tony Martin, who supported a line break made by Darcy Coleman.

A 3-1 half time lead to Hey Furston set up an enthralling second half as both teams formed a huddle and voiced their game plans.

End-to-end footy ensured a fast and open start to the half.

This time, it was Untouchies who gained ascendency early, cracking the Hey Furston line five minutes into the half through a Gerard Martin short ball to Charlie Carswell.

The momentum stayed with the experienced group with Matt Turland scoring shortly after to bring the scores level with 10-minutes to go.

A case of deja vu with both teams settling into a chess-like rucking pattern.

The kicking games of both teams became a focal point as the minutes ticked by, however neither team was able to land a final blow.

At the end of 40-minutes the scores were tied 3-3.

A new adaption to extra time rules ensures that teams start the period with all six players.
For the first three minutes, teams remain with six. Teams will drop a player at the start of the 3rd and 4th minute, until we get a 4-on-4 match.
Golden point rules apply.

Starting with the ball, Hey Furston lasted just three touches before making an error, gifting Untouchies the ball in plus territory.

In true Untouchies fashion, they drove the ball down the field, pushing Hey Furston to the goal line, and made them pay.

On touch four, Gerard Martin crossed for the match-winning try after a series of short passes.

The win marks Untouchies 13rd in their Toowong grand final win, and their first since 2013.
Untouchies are the most successful Kick It team in history. Swoop (9) and Pink Bits (8) round out an impressive top three teams.

Hey Furston becomes the first Toowong team to reach a division 1 grand final and take it to extra time in their first season.
They also become the first team Toowong team to reach a division 1 grand final in their first season since Yeah Yeah Nah in 2011.

Lucky 13 for Untouchies, Multiple Scoregasms take division 2 41Multiple Scoregasms have claimed their third division two grand final title with an emphatic 8-2 win over Dugongs on Tuesday evening.

Buoyed by the return of speedsters Nathan Cox and Trent Gosner, Scoregasms went on an early rout, posting four tries in the opening ten minutes.

Women's Allstars hopeful Sophie Bell crossed first, supporting Gosner on the edge, while Nathan and Trent combined for three more tries from line breaks and kicks.

Sami Vallance was next to score, supporting through on an Isaac Toohey line break on the goal line.

New South Wales' representative Hunter Brown got Dugongs on the board mid-way through the second half with a long-range chip and chase.

As Scoregasms turned the screws, attacking opportunities dried up for Dugongs.

Nathan Cox crossed for his second try to seal the victory with a long-range kick try.
