Kickaholics, Kropp Sport Take Out 2021 LIVIN Charity Shield

Kickaholics and Kropp Sport have won the 2021 LIVIN Charity Event with strong showings in their respective mens and mixed pools.

The July 10th event housed 12 teams competing for bragging rights, but it was mental health that was the real winner.

All profits raised from the event were donated back to LIVIN’s LiveWell program that educates young people on the stigmas attached to mental health and depression.

We kick-off the seventh LIVIN charity event this December. But this time with a twist.

We’ve added a cash prize element as we look to combine our successful cash tournaments with our ever-popular charity shield.

December 5th, Carseldine we will host the Charity Cash Comp. Sign ups are now open.

Mixed Champions

Kickaholis faced off against an in-form Woof side in the mixed grand finals.

The teams met in the pool rounds with Kickaholics coming out victorious 4-2. It was Woof’s only loss in the lead up to the final.

In one of the tightest charity grand finals to date, Woof got on the board first through John.

The 1-0 lead was held up until the 13th minute when Kirk Barber levelled the scores.

It took a piece of brilliance from Mariah to put in a kick for Mason Hasselmeyer to score and give Kickaholics a memorable lead with only 2 minutes to go.

The successful Taringa team would hold on for a 2-1 victory.

Elsewhere, Troopers remained undefeated throughout the pool rounds only to fall to Woof in the semi finals

A spirited performance by Warriors Green was undone by a hungry Kickaholics outfit in the second semi final.

Tremendous effort by all the mixed teams who participated.

20/10 Knockout Champion.

A big thanks to Lumber Punks for providing us with a 2-person pass for the winner of our LIVIN 20/10 competition.

It only took two consecutive successful 20/10 kicks to crown out champion in some tough windy conditions.

Well done to Matt Beard (The Misfitz)

Mens Champions
LIVIN Charity Shield - Kropp Sport
Two evenly matched sides in Kropp Sport and The Chiefs took part in a hotly contested mens final.

The pair of teams were head and shoulders above the rest of the competition and it showed during the pool rounds.

The Chiefs dropped their only match to Kropp Sport 3-1, while Kropp remained undefeated throughout the event.

It took some special efforts by 2020 tournament champion Nate Wood (Chiefs) and Darren Gehkre (Kropp) to get their side’s on the board.

Both teams traded blows for the duration of the match with Gehkre coming up with the game winning try on full time.

Kropp Sport’s grand final win was set up by a pleasing victory over Warriors white in the semi final.

Meanwhile, long-serving mens side Beau Knows fell to The Chiefs in the second semi final.

A big thanks to all the teams who participated. You helped make the event enjoyable and worthwhile.
