Toowong Autumn 🏆: Flickers, Misfits

Flickers have secured a maiden division one grand final victory over Not Fast, Just Furious overnight. 

After going down at the hands of Balls Deep a season ago, Flickers went one better with a hard-fought 8-6 win in wet conditions. 

With both teams suffering illness and injuries in the lead up, it was a battle of attrition.

The conditions favoured try assist leader Cory Williams who targeted tired defenders with simple draw and pass opportunities. 

By the end, Williams added another five try assists to his season tally, the equal most by any player in a grand final match. 

It was a huge effort by Not Fast, Just Furious who played three girls in the middle for the entire match. 

Try leader Trent Gossner and Isaac Mobbs added some much needed spark in attack to keep touch with Flickers. 

When it was all said and done, the craft of Cory Williams was the difference.
A deserving player of the match award, and Flickers team victory.

Good mates make great grand finals. 

Cheese Touch and Misfits put on a great showing in the division two grand final. 

While wet, the clouds cleared with a gritty game in greasy conditions. 

Ball security proved to be most valuable, with Misfits gaining key field position as a result. 

Key tries to Will and Luke proved the difference in a low scoring affair. 

Well done to Misfits on their win - their first in two years.
