History at Kick It Toowong

Established in 2007, Kick It's inaugural competition at Jack Cook Memorial park, home of Harriers Little Athletics, is one of the longest running single-venue competitions in Brisbane.

The inner city competition has thrived on the back of a social and fiercely local community made up largely of university students, small business owners and local community groups.

Over the years, the Toowong community has become family with many experience players and teams playing on the hallowed turf in spite of two major floods and a major double redevelopment.

Since 2012, the West Brisbane Tigers representative side has added an extra dimension to the competition and Kick It's events calendar. In 2021 and in 10th year anniversary of the Rep Cup Concept, the Tigers' mixed team won their first mixed title.

Why is the local touch football community so important? Giving back to the players, staff and local community is so rewarding. It's a sense of belonging and being part of a fun, enjoyable environment all year round.

Whether you're a player, referee, spectator, venue coordinator, sponsor, local business or community group, it's so easy to get involved.

Remember, we're all in this together; and together, we are family.
